Illustrated List of Manufacturers Trade Marks: Clicking on this page can be useful in determining the actual maker of the watch movement. Very often dial names or even names engraved on the movement plates are not the name of the actual maker of the movement.

Illustrations and Descriptions of Mechanical Watch Movement Parts: There are two pages on this site containing illustrations and descriptions of generic watch movement parts. Click on either the "Dial Side" page for parts that are under the dial, or the "Bridge Side" page for parts of the going train and escapement. These numbered parts illustrations and descriptions provide the generally accepted industry names and standardized part numbers for the various parts of a mechanical movement. For example, the standard part number for a winding stem is 401.It is possible to toggle between the two pages.

Illustrations and Descriptions of Mechanical Chronograph Movement Parts: The are two basic types of chronograph movements: Pillar Wheel Type and Non-Pillar Wheel Type. There are pages on this site with numbered parts illustrations of both types of movements along with pages with parts descriptions corresponding to the illustration numbers.
